water song

i heard the water tinkling softly that day in the woods…like a siren it called to me, singing and sighing in my veins…weaving through the trees, i finally found the voice that whispered softly…clear cool water, rushing by…filling my ears, my senses…oh how i laughed!...i felt giddy with joy at the loveliness of this moment…my fingers captured that innocence and i reveled as drops fell from my hands…

the sun sparkled in and out through the leaf and blossom covered branches...my cheeks were kissed by its golden warmth…my feet tickled by the simple stream…i don’t know how long i splashed in abandon that day…

beneath my feet, sitting quietly and unmoving, smooth pebbles lined the stream’s floor…smooth slippery rocks…and i fell without warning…time seemed so still and heavy during that fall…i reached out to the heavy branches that seemed to pull away slowly…my voice fell up on the silent ears of the wooden realm…

it hurt…that fall…rocks with jagged edges piercing my flesh with ease…how could i not see the fall that was to come?....why did my eyes not hold fast to the stoic trees?...why did the fall have to hurt so much?...

why did the water still feel so cool as it licked my fresh wounds…

The nature of water-no matter what form it may be in-is to soothe us.

Take care of yourself.
